Purpose, dignity and power — for every woman and girl

Purposeful Women Network is a registered, women-led non-profit working alongside women and youth across Karamoja. We believe lasting change grows from within communities — so we walk with people, not ahead of them.

What we do

Our six focus areas

Every programme is built on one belief: when a woman thrives, her whole community thrives.

Economic Empowerment & Gender Equality

Building lasting incomes through farming, savings and enterprise — and advancing equality for women and girls.

Governance & Leadership

Supporting women to take their rightful place in community decision-making and leadership.

Peace Building & Conflict Resolution

Women-led dialogue that settles disputes and builds lasting peace between communities.

GBV Prevention

Preventing gender-based violence and walking with survivors toward safety, justice and healing.

Health & Nutrition

Improving health through sanitation, hygiene and nutrition — including psychosocial support and better health services for people living with HIV/AIDS.

Climate Change & Resilience

Building resilient livelihoods — protecting land, livestock and families as the climate changes.

Our story

A registered, women-led movement for Karamoja

Purposeful Women Network is a women-led non-profit, established in 2024 and fully registered in Uganda. We work with women's groups across Karamoja to advance gender equality, protect children, build skills, and grow resilient, peaceful communities.

Through farming, savings, leadership and peace-building — driven by the community itself — we turn shared purpose into real, lasting change.
